"Whodunnit?" 6/30

Posted on 20:01 by Unknown
Bedroom: Melina, Lindsey, Ronnie & Geno

There's black rust all over & around a doorknob. Melina read the note "Saint Agatha: Patron Saint, protector from fire, sleep well". There's reportedly a chain necklace w/ a medallion missing from a jewelry case. Also, the lampshade's missing a piece & the lamp's trigger may have melted.

Swimming pool: Kam, Sasha & Adrianna

Two black socks are floating that Dontae was wearing; everyone else's wearing white ones. That necklace's deep down in the pool & Kam swims down to get it.

Morgue: Don, Cris, Dana & Ulysses

The fire was said to have started at Dontae's torso, but the right hand & forearm and center chest area got burnt the most according to Don. Dontae was wearing plaid pajamas at the time.

Killer's Riddle #2: "You'll know that you are getting warm, when you find the fire in liquid form. Above the cycles, you'll spot the label. Search high and low, if you're able. To ignite the truth, you must track this clue. Dragging your feet could be the death of you..."

The contestants each grab a white flag,,,& Melina grabs the benzene in question above a washer/dryer. According to the bottle, they have to spray their flags w/ that substance, find the same & turn the knob before dragging their feet.

When they spray their flags, a pink stripe appears, which also ends up appearing in the middle of a door on the second floor...as soon as Kam turns that doorknob, he gets an electrical shock & that pink strip turns into a fire hole.

Upon review, the same message seen on the note was also seen on the medallion. And those black socks gained enough static electricity from the shag carpet to start the fire.

Ulysses- SPARED
Kam- SPARED
Lindsey- SPARED
Don- SPARED
Ronnie- SPARED (despite ripping his flag open outside)
Dana- SCARED
Cris- SPARED
Geno- SPARED
Sasha- SPARED
Adrianna- SCARED
Melina- SPARED

DROPPING A BOWL OF CEREAL & LATER DRIVING A GOLF CART TO HER FIERY DEATH- Adrianna

6/29 "Price" Fast Notes

Posted on 07:21 by Unknown
-The $12 margin of victory in last Mon.'s Showcase Round is actually the 2nd-closest this season (the smallest was $9 back on 10/2).
-While $19,390 has been a semi-frequent fake price on both Five Price Tags & Gas Money, it wasn't ever used for this yr.'s Jeep Patriot in either of those games. Another fake GM price of $22,445 could've been used for the dark green MINI Cooper HT in that PG or Dice Game, but it's not likely now.
-Proving that I'm not always perfect, I was so sure that the car won by Robert Hernandez was the Honda Insight according to his Winner's Circle video on YouTube, when in fact it was the red KIA Rio.

About this insect Nash wrote "Would you be calm and placid if you were full of formic acid?".

"What is a mosquito?"...incorrect- it was just an ant, so back she goes in negative territory to the tune of 400 bucks. By the time the board's wiped out, she's $1,200 to the good, 1/4 of new leader Nishant's score; Sonrisa's $400 behind him.

The Usumacinta River forms the border between Mexico & this country.

"What is Guatemala?"...she needed it & got it to go to $9,600, then she ties up the game as that category gets wrapped up! Also, she has a DDS & is additionally on the verge of sweeping the Francais category! Of her $15,200, she wagers three G's:

Meaning uninterested, it's the past participle of a French word meaning "to become boring".

She doesn't know it's blase.

DJ! LT (all unattempted): $6,800

"The Hero" 6/27

Posted on 19:55 by Unknown
Remember two weeks ago when I said there weren't going to be any eliminations? Well, I was wrong after all- starting this week, the HC will decide if the person attempting it will be out or whether it will be the player of his/her choice that should leave the game should s/he succeed. Also, the value of the HCs has been raised to $60K, as has the American Red Cross donation for TC wins to $15K.

The main SUV being used on the show's a Chevrolet Suburban LT from the era when the GM logo was still on their cars.

TC #4 S1 (half-hr. on the clock): In San Sebastian Barrio, Marty & Shaun have to find Napo's house to get a code, while Charles, Athena, Rachel & Dave have to find Punta Pacifica & climb 32 flights of stairs to hopefully get the code (1920).

T #5: If Marty & Shaun decide to split $30K, the upcoming HC will be twice as hard...NO SALE.

Later, w/ about 14 min. left, the team of four has to jump off a sky bridge & grab all four bags.
TL- 10:36.3

S2: Shaun, Marty & Charles have to rappel 10 stories up an elevator shaft to the 32nd floor.
R- W W/ 4.1 LEFT

HC #4: Marty's the man (& he said he enjoys swimming, so that's a good sign). He first has to ride a Cigarette 38 SPYDER powerboat nine miles, then swim to a ship & grab the moneybag attached to the bottom of a red buoy in 40 min.

R- W W/ 1:47.1 LEFT

At this point, if he wants to withdraw from the competition, he can take $30K. But we'll have to wait until next time to see who really does have to go home.

6/26/13 Quick News & Notes

Posted on 18:17 by Unknown
-"$ale of the Century" dropped the balloons on their undefeated champs, except for very early in the run. They also did so after any WBMG win early on in its life (along w/ the sirens), but by the time they lowered the requirement to four puzzles in :20, they only did so for the $10K, car & $50K levels (& they no longer used the sirens for wins less than the car).
-This year on the mock "Big Brother" game on "The Talk", Sara won HoH & Sheryl won the PoV (which wasn't used). The nominees were Julie & Sharon...& w/ Aisha's vote & Sara's tiebreaker, Sharon was "evicted". Popular "BB" houseguest Jeff was also the host for some segments.
-Aisha is a voice on the upcoming video game "Watch Dogs"; she's also a voice on the VGs "Halo: Reach" & "Gears of War 3".
-"All My Children" (1 PM) & "One Life to Live" (3 PM) will air Mon.-Thurs. on OWN for 10 weeks beginning Jul. 15.
-CNN is reviving "Crossfire", but won't have Tucker Carlson back; Tucker formerly competed on "Jeopardy!" & "dancing with the stars".
-The week of 10/7-10/11 will be the next PCH Prize Patrol Week on "Price".
-Tomorrow's $500 QD items are a $2 bill & a hacky sack.

"Big Brother"- 15th SEASON PREMIERE

Posted on 18:15 by Unknown
To make it to finale night this season, the 16 houseguests have to stay in the game for a record 90 days. Julie starts out in the house before exiting to enter the new studio (but STILL NO HD capabilities for them).

BTW, Elissa is Rachel Reilly's sister.

HoH C ("Popsicle Factory"): Once they jump onto a Popsicle, they'll be lifted up in the air and rotated, & have to stay on theirs the longest.

EO:
1. Judd (5:26)
2. Howard (7:17)
3. Candice (7:46)
4. Amanda (41:32)
5. Spencer (41:54)
6. Helen
7. Jessie
8. Elissa
9. GinaMarie
10. Andy
11. Kaitlin (2:14)
12. Aaryn (3:02)
13. David (3:55)

At this point, he's offered a chance to open up one of two lunch pails (silver & black)- one of them has a Never Not Pass, which grants that houseguest the right to never be a Have-Not the whole season.

Silver- BREAD

14. Jeremy (so the NNP's his)
W- McCrae (at least for pizza delivery work, he uses a Saturn SL)

BTW, the MVP will determine the third eviction nominee each week & will do so in secret. His/her identity won't be revealed to the house until just before a PoV Competition.

"Jeopardy!" 6/26/13

Posted on 17:37 by Unknown
Maggie Millikan (Midlothian, VA)- Homemaker
Gabe Gales (Cincinnati)- Research analyst
NEW CHAMP: Padraic Scanlan

BB:
ANAGRAMMED VIRGINIA PLACES
RED ALERT
ON THE TUBE (the $800 clue's about "Big Brother")
MIDDLE "W"
STUPID ANSWERS
YOU MUST BE PRESIDENT TO WIN

Picking up from where Andrew left off last night, Padraic goes DDH on the $400 Middle "W"...Gabe shortly takes a similar route...& eventually chooses the $600 SA, which is:

Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452 near this tiny town in Toscana.

Gabe: "What is Vinci?" ($1,800)

$800:

Jomo Kenyatta was the first Prime Minister, then first President of this country.

Maggie: "What is Kenya?" ($1,800)

$1K:

Among the holdings of this British museum are the Elgin Marbles & the Rosetta Stone.

Maggie: "What is the British Museum?" ($3,600)

$400:

This unit of measure's the distance a burst of light travels in one yr., about 5.8 trillion miles.

Gabe: "What is a lightyear?" ($4K)- FIRST BREAK (Padraic: $800/Maggie: $3,600)

We'll take a break for those so that everyone can resume their DDH...& just after doubling to $1,600 on his own power w/ the $800 President, he finds it in its $600 box; Maggie's up to $5,200 now. The new titleholder's risking $1,400.

The International Radio & Television Society gave him its gold medal as "America's Most Accomplished Communicator".

"Who was Ronald Reagan?"...there's 3K American bucks. The last SA for two more $100 bills, chosen very late in this rd.:

This musical takes place in Philadelphia in the Summer of 1776.

Padraic: "What is '1776'?" ($3,800)

When the other two $200 answers have been seen, that board's done- Gabe has $5,200 & Maggie leads him by $2,600.

SOLE TS (unattempted): $600 (On the Tube)

DJ! Listings:
THE 4th CENTURY
HEALTHCARE
STATUES
WORLD LITERATURE
SLANGUAGE
THE MUSICALS OF RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN

Padraic starts right up the middle in World Literature...INSTANT DD. He'll wager $3K this time.

The last chapter of this 16th C. work is "An Exhortation to Liberate Italy from The Barbarians".

"What is The Prince?"...he was nodding just before responding & he should be for $6,800. After all but the $400 clue there's been shown, Maggie tries it once more w/ the middle Rodgers & Hammerstein play...& finally has one from the last remaining answer worth more than $400, the $800 Statue (besides that subject, the other three available are Healthcare, Slanguage and Rodgers & Hammerstein); Maggie has $15,400 & is just $200 over Padraic; Gabe's only $1,800 behind her. She also places a $3K wager on this (w/ less than a min. left in the rd.):

Baruch Spinoza stands in front of this world capital's city hall.

"What is Amsterdam?"...got it! When those Statues are finished, so is this DJ! Rd.

SOLE ATTEMPTED TS: $1,200 (Rodgers & Hammerstein)
UNATTEMPTED LT: $4K
TOTAL DJ! LT: $5,200

Pre-Final Scores:

Padraic: $15,400/Gabe: $14K/Maggie: $18,400

CORYAT SCORES:

Padraic: $12,800

Maggie: $16,200

FJ! TOPIC #203: Movies & The Bible.

In this crime drama, a '94 OSCAR nominee for Best Picture, a character misquotes Ezekiel 25:17 twice.

G: "WHAT IS 'PULP FICTION'?" ($13,950) = $27,950
P: WHAT IS "SEVEN"?" ($10K) = $5,400
M: NOTHING ($12,001) = $6,399 (Padraic leaves w/ $12,400)

EPISODE RATING: 7

"Jeopardy!" 6/25/13

Posted on 17:06 by Unknown
John Simpson (Providence, RI)- Advertising creative director
Padraic Scanlan (originally from Montreal)- PhD History student
SIX-DAY CHAMP: Andrew Moore ($137,803)

(Note: For this episode, the opening title screens on the studio monitors opened like elevator doors.)

BB:
KICKING AROUND FOR A WHILE
WORLD'S FAIRS
EXTREME GEOGRAPHY
MYSTERY MEAT (each answer talks about a dish)
ENDS IN DOUBLE L
WASHINGTON MATH

We start w/ the $800 Double L...eventually all three use the HSS...it hasn't been found yet for the first time in this game, but Andrew's in LGT at halftime w/ $6,600 to Padraic's $1,400 & John's $600. Shortly after those ads...the champ's got it from the $800 Washington Math problem & he has $7,200; John's down to two bills. The first bet from Andrew will be $3K.

Obama's number as President divided by the number of heads carved on Mount Rushmore.

"What is 11?" is correct (44/11) to equal a new total for him of $10,200! Andrew now has $10,800 after the board's completely wiped off; Padraic's rose to $3,400 & John has the last-place adv. w/ $1,200.

SOLE ATTEMPTED TS: $600 (W.M.)
SOLE UNATTEMPTED TS: $1K (E.G.)
TOTAL LT: $1,600

Here Comes DJ! & These:
DIARIES & JOURNALS
GOT A LITTLE CATEGORY HERE
AMERICAN HISTORY
CAPE TOWN LADIES
SING THAT SONG
"DOO-" "-DAH" (some right responses in this subject start w/ the former, while others end w/ the latter)

After the first clue, Padraic goes DDH on the $1,600 Cape Town Lady...it takes a while, but he has one right in the middle of Diaries & Journals & is within reach at $10,600, $7,400 off the pace; John's still a distant 3rd w/ $4,800. Padraic goes for $8K "Moore" & the lead on this:

In Jan. 1770, this explorer wrote "Natives brought...the heads of the men they had lately kill'd".

"Who is Captain Cook?"...RIGHT! The last one...goes to Andrew from the $1,200 bit of American History & he stands at $17,600, $2,200 behind Padraic. To add his own $8K & go back in front:

In 1977, on the 50th anniversary of their execution, a proclamation was issued saying this pair had been treated injustly.

"Who are (Ferdinando) Sacco & (Bartolomeo) Vanzetti?"...ARE WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR!

DJ! LT (all attempted): $4,400

Look At These Post-DJ! Totals:

Andrew: $26,400/Padraic: $21,400/John: $5,200

CORYAT SCORES:

Andrew: $17,400
Padraic: $14,600

FJ! CATEGORY #202: Plants.

Economically speaking, this plant family w/ about 10K species is by far the most important.

J: "What is grain?" ($5,199) = BUCK
P: "WHAT IS RICE?" ($10K) = $11,400
A: "What is corn?" (Correct: What is grass?) = $9,999- PL (he leaves w/ $139,803 & is now 2nd on the ToC Leaderboard)

EPISODE RATING: 6
