History was made last night by Skyler Hornback, when he had enough knowledge & guts to win $66,600, becoming the top-winning kid ever on the show (& breaking a near-11-yr.-old Kids Week mark)! As far as I know, the KW record for girls is Emily Kamm's $35K on 12/27/01.
Josiah Washington (Columbia, SC)(12)- Wants to be a roller coaster co. CEO
Blythe McWhirter (Decatur, GA)- Aspiring marine biologist

BOOKS' MISSING ADJECTIVES
Josiah goes DDH on the $400 Celebrities clue after being right on the first At the Toy Store answer...in the meantime, Clement SWEEPS Books' Missing Adjectives to turn his -$200 into $2,800 & the early lead (& Skyler didn't have a sweep at all yesterday; in fact, no one did). At the TO, he has $4K & is in LGT right now, a $2,400 lead over Josiah & a $3K cushion over Blythe.
The DD of the rd. gets picked by...Blythe from the $600 Geography 101 screen & has $3,800; she's $1,600 off Clement's leading pace & is in 2nd place by a grand. She wagers 1/2 of her current deficit ($800).
277 miles long & often one mile deep, it's the largest gorge in the U.S. of A.
"What is the Grand Canyon?"...good for $4,600. When we flip-flop the first two digits of her score at the end of this rd. of competition, she's tied for the lead w/ Clement at $6,400 apiece.

"HEAD" OF THE CLASS
Josiah goes right up the middle of "Head" to resume his DDH procedure...on his third choice, he's got one for the $1,600 Exploration; he wagers $2K of his $4,400. This is for a three-way tie:
In 1609, this Englishman sailed the half-moon into New York Bay.
"Who is (Henry) Hudson?"...good guess for the three-way split! Clement has the last one in the middle of Aug. 1 w/ a 3rd place score of $8,800, trailing Blythe for 2nd by $2K; Josiah's all the way up to 16 big ones. Clement also makes a $2K bet, so for the tie to 2nd (w/ less than a min. left in the rd.):
This was abolished in Britain's Caribbean colonies on Aug. 1, 1834.
"What is slavery?"...that was it! Those beeps sound before they could discover:
