"Get Out Alive"- FINALE

Posted on 18:59 by Unknown
OBSTACLE: Jump out of a helicopter & into an isolated lake. Then, go through rainforests & cross a ferocious river without the use of a raft.
FIRE: Only the fire steel can be used in a rainforest; also, each team's flint is split in half.
FOOD SOURCE: At sundown, Bear brings out a deer heart for everybody.

The next day, they have to build a wooden raft to navigate a fast-moving jungle river & make it to the Tasman Sea for the rescue by signal fire.

When finished, all of the finalists got to enjoy being at the Feast Pit. But according to Bear, the $500K money bonanza belongs to...

-When Alan was finished reading the fake sponsor to last night's "LATE SHOW Top Ten", he said to Dave "Back to you, Wink Martindale!".
-The $45K+ Porsche 968 may have been the last aired foreign car offered in the Barker era of "Price".

8/22/13 Quick News & Notes

Posted on 18:24 by Unknown
-Ignore what we previously said about this Tues.' episode of "Minute to Win It" at 7 PM being new.
-To clarify, Fri.'s & Mon.'s "Price" reruns are from 6/21 & 6/24 respectively.
-Ken completely missed the balloon drop at the end of the sole "Family Feud" College Tournament. Also, on the 10/15/08 episode, he inadvertently left the R1 pt. bank on when the remaining four answers were revealed, so the bank read 98 instead of 89.
-To clarify on the "TPiR LIVE!" Showcase end game, you only get three chances for each of the first two prizes (unused turns on previous prizes don't carry over) & two chances for the last two prizes (the grand prize's usually a trip/car combo).
-When a player buzzes in on "The Chase" during the FC, a red light surrounds a player's name.
-"Quicksilver" host Ron Maestri was a contestant on "WIN, LOSE OR Draw".
-The finishing sound effect heard on tonight's "Wipeout" WZ  was also used for most of the run on "ILLINOIS Luckiest" for its Pinball game.
-The $500 QD items tomorrow are an unworn sweatband & a LEGO Man head.

8/20/13 Quick News & Notes

Posted on 17:48 by Unknown
-"Millionaire" is moving to the NEP Metropolis Studios in NYC this coming season. Also, Rich Sirop's expected to also be an EP for Meredith Viera's upcoming talk show.
-After "Dream House" had their surprise one-game playoff, they went back to using the later Golden Doors think music for entering the combination. Once they instituted the gameplay changes around their anniversary, the graphics were changed a bit (originally, the categories & Q choices for the Golden Doors were displayed on the big screen next to the combination lock, but that was quickly changed to showing a picture of a house being played for). They also once gave away the $12.5K AMC Eagle Wagon to the team during a parent/child week that had the highest maingame score.
-As of this week, most of the graphics & the first line of the intro spiel to the "LATE SHOW with David Letterman" has been changed to "From the heart of Broadway, broadcasting across the nation and around the world..." & Alan now identifies himself right before introducing Dave (previously, Alan only ID'd himself at the end of an episode).
-In each of the last aired first-run episodes of "Price" this season that had one of The Big Three PG's played, there was either a winless show or a DOB (the former occurred when triple play was played & the latter occurred w/ the other two, including today).
-Regis is reunited w/ EP Michael Davies on "Crowd Goes Wild".
-Howie's "Deal With It" has been renewed by tbs for a second season, as has "Hollywood Game Night" by NBC.
-A kazoo & a miniature hot sauce bottle are tomorrow's $500 QD items.

8/19 Quick News & Notes

Posted on 17:14 by Unknown
-FUEL tv is now known as FOX Sports 2.
-Around the November Sweeps period, "Dream House" started using the split-screen for Golden Doors reveals. For whatever reason starting around Christmas, though, the older think music for locking in each number on the electronic lock was used instead of the updated one.
-"Body Language" dropped balloons at the end of their last show for '84. "Dream House" dropped balloons, confetti & streamers on their last episode of '83.
-One time, because there was a dearth of house wins, two high-winning couples were brought back to play a special game where the winners would automatically win their home (the Golden Circuit Breaker/Hotline Switch wasn't used in that instance).
-The bonus prize for making a Bingo on "The Scrabble Challenge" was a $3,700 trip to Outrigger Hawaii & the car for doing so was an $18,728 Ford focus Sedan.
