I have bad news...that QU starter cost us any hopes of ending this season w/ a PBRW. Well, after Ryan solves this, no more HEAVY MACHINERY for him...
...just an extra $30K for a big final haul totaling $69,715 going to our final S30 champ- WTG!
LAST REVEALED $5K SPIN ID: SR0988269
Pat & Vanna's last chat is about that bonus puzzle solution.
Well, that concludes a 30th Anniversary season that definitely lived up to the hype! Here's a refresher:
-As of this season, instead of offering trips to lucky WWC members, a minimum of $5K in cash has been offered (almost) daily to WWC members w/ the SPIN IDs (remember, starting Mon., you can now win $10K if you have the SonyCard, even though they'll be in reruns).
-We saw lots of classic clips & bonus puzzles.
-There were some "Ask Pat & Vanna" segments, but not too many of them.
-Even though the BR wasn't too kind there, the show got to spend four weeks at The Theater at MSG in NYC.
-There was a second sears Secret Santa Sweepstakes.
-The decade puzzle categories returned.
-The maingame winnings record was finally rebroken on 12/21 to the tune of $69,300.
-41 automobiles were won in S30; 21 of them came via the 1/2 CAR plates- one KIA Soul, one Chevy Spark, five Fiestas, six smart cars & eight Chevy Sonics (the first seven were worth $14,660 each & the last one was worth $14,995). The most commonly won BR automobiles were the Audi A4 (the A3 has still yet to be given away) & the MINI Cooper Roadster at three times each. And for whatever reason, we seemed to land on at least vehicle envelope almost every week.
-This version of the show finally had an on-screen timer for the BR.
-There was a total of 76 BR wins this season. We started & ended the season w/ a 4-1 BR week & the overall BR record was even above the .500 mark after the first five weeks. We did, however, had to endure four double-digit losing streaks in '13, w/ the last one hitting an all-time worst of 14 losses (to close out the NYC road trip & this season's tapings overall).
-Well over $10M in cash & stuff was awarded. In terms of the grand prize envelopes, there was a 6-4 record (not falling below .500 once in the season)- five of them were for $100K (the most notable of those winners was Cindy Kling on 12/28, when she became the biggest non-millionaire ever on the program) & the other to Autumn Erhard at the end of May '13 was for the $1M (so the all-time "Wheel" queen is now her at $1,030,340).
It's been an absolute joy for me to watch a majority S30 of "Wheel" & we'll forge ahead in the Fall, as usual. Until then, have a great Summer, Wheel Watchers!

Visiting the "Anne of Green Gables" house in this smallest Canadian province.
"What is Prince Edward Island?"...yes. At the commercials, Matt has gotten on the board w/ $3,200, good for 2nd place at the time; he's $1,600 behind John & Eric has $1,200.
SOLE TS: Unattempted $800 bit of World History
Current Scores:
Matt: $5,400/John: $7K/Eric: $5,200

They start w/ TV Time, then after the $1,200 You Six-y Thing, Matt goes DDH on the $800 Apollo 11 spot...but it's Eric who has one from the middle Author while being at $10K on the head; he's $1,800 ahead of John & $2,600 over Matt. Eric wagers 3/10 his bank:
Born in 1917 in England; died in 2008 (NOT 2001) in Sri Lanka.
"Who is (Arthur C.) Clarke?"...& we make his new total $13K! When Matt jumps to $9,400, he tries DDH again, this time w/ the $1,600 You Six-y Thing...but Eric again makes him unhappy by taking one under the $1,600 Violin Music w/ $15,800; Matt has 13 big ones & John's only $800 out of 2nd. The bet from Eric will be $2.5K on this one:
This style of violin playing w/ short strokes of the bow follows "hora" in the title of a famous piece.
"What is staccato?"...good enough guess!
