-That bloated Aruba trip is by far the most expensive trip ever offered on "Price".
-Doug Davidson won his first Emmy last night; his voice has greatly changed since we saw him hosting "Price" in syndication during the mid-'90s.
-There was an unsold '79 pilot of "Gambit" hosted by Wink w/ Debbie Bartlett as the dealer; the maingame Q's were replaced by "Scrabble" Speedword clues & the bonus game was skee-ball themed. In that endgame, the winning couple had six balls (three per member); if two went into one of three prize columns (such as $2.5K), they would win that prize (there were two red dead ball holes, however). Getting two balls into both a Jack & an Ace won a car, & getting a ball into each of the six lettered holes of the show's title won $10K. If a lettered hole was hit, the ball would pop back out & stay in play. If a couple won another match, the letters they had lit would carry over from the previous BR to the next.
-Early on in "Las Vegas Gambit", hitting 21 in the BR won whatever was in the Gambit Jackpot at the time plus everything off the Gambit Board; of course, this later changed to $5K & the GJ's contents in addition to the prizes chosen up to that point (& eventually the Gambit Galaxy towards the end of the run, which always included $5K, when The Big Numbers was incorporated into the how).
